That I would find strength in You oh Lord, in order to leave the world behind..

Everything in this picture is symbolic.

The hand is from a photo of my father's hand, representative of God the Father. The ring he wears is from [link] (you should check it out, it's cool) which means "May You Live in God". The girl has similar features to myself, with the boney hand representing that she is leaving death and looking to God who is restoring her. The white clothing represents purity.. And the cloud/earth background represents leaving the world and seeing the light of heaven.

Yet again, I really wish we had a "religious" or "spiritual" category to put this kind of stuff in..

wow,

first thing that comes to mind is, EEEWWW! her hands is all bones n stuff :P

but the symbolism is really obvious here, I think its one of the nicest christian pics yet. :D

I also checked out that link about the ring. pretty cool.

art wise about the only thing I might suggest is to try out one or more of the PSP filters to see if you can make a more homogenous look to the whole thing. perhaps, filters/artistic/posterize?

Thanks Toast! I'll have to check out that posterize.. in fact, I'mma do that soon as I finish typing and submitting this comment :p

What did you think of the background? I tend to have a really difficult time with backgrounds..

hmmm, the BG wasn't bad, though you could try adding black bars on the sides behind the hand and girl, just for a more artistic look.
